person
Ashish Vaswani
One of eight authors of the 2017 Transformer paper, with credit shared across architecture, implementation and evaluation.
Vaswani is one of the eight authors of Attention Is All You Need. The v1 contribution footnote describes equal contributions and a randomly ordered author list.[1]
The collaborators are Noam Shazeer, Niki Parmar, Jakob Uszkoreit, Llion Jones, Aidan N. Gomez, Łukasz Kaiser and Illia Polosukhin. The architecture should be attributed to their collaboration, rather than a single inventor. The origins guide explains why an architecture advance belongs beside, but does not settle, alignment questions.
Review scope: original v1 author list and contribution footnote; not a comprehensive biography or audit of later roles.
